During both interviews and testing, users communicated the challenges involved with entering numbers into standard input fields, and even showed frustration with “number” inputs.
I therefore specified input type "tel" to simplify numeric entry for shoppers. A small detail that made a big difference to the user’s experience.
Optimizing the Workflow
In order to streamline the workflow, I moved the account creation option to the end of the checkout flow.
